The original stone homestead consisted of four rooms, a hall, veranda, and kitchen with outbuildings comprising shed, a collection well (3.6 wide x 5m deep), piggery, citrus, and pastureland. The family hosted a boarding school for female pupils at the farm c.1848. The residence stayed in the Field family for over 60 years.
